The second file uses the same material as the first one, but it's color has been modified in the DCC.
Not reproducible with Datasmith import. In that case the material is correctly updated in all collapse modes.
1 - Import attached SKP file (Pink.skp)
2 - Reimport with new file with Pink_Modified_to_Green.skp
Result: Pink material is kept after reimport
Expected result: Imported material is updated to be green
