Description

Customer Comments:

this is just a workflow issue where you need to set the compression settings to normal or tick the sRGB checkbox to fix the shading issue

Regression testing done in //UE4/Release-4.27.2 CL-18427296 and this issue DID NOT happen

I did a little halo testing and found that when importing the normal map texture in by itself or within an .fbx file the compression settings were correctly set to NormalMap. This only seems to happen when importing a usd file. I also tried importing a usdz file in addition to a usdc file.

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Open any project
  2. Go to Edit>Plugins
  3. Enable USD Importer plugin
    • found at Built-In>Importers
  4. Restart editor when prompted
  5. Unzip [Link Removed] somewhere
  6. Go to File>Import to Level
  7. Select the SM_NormalMapTexture.usd file from the unzipped folder and click open
  8. Select desired location within Content Browser to save the imported file
  9. Click Import in the USD Import Options window
  10. In Content Browser, navigate to your imported objects textures
  11. Double click on the normal map texture
  12. In Details panel find the compression settings

Expected Results: Normal map's Compression Settings should be set to Normalmap

Actual Results: the Normal map texture compression settings is set to Default, breaks the shading in viewport
