After assigning an apex cloth to an element inside of the character skeleton > Mesh section they material is overridden.
#.) Open User Project
#.) Double click on Character Mesh
#.) Go to the Mesh Section in the Menu that appears
#.) Add APEX file to Element Assigned to Belt
#.) Observe Material Change
