User is reporting that this is happening with some, but not all meshes. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary when looking at the asset in 3Ds Max, and the asset will import correctly into 4.10.2, but not in 4.11 and 4.12 MAIN. Looking at the imported normals the faces are flipped but the normals are correct for what they should be.
When testing this I adjusted a number of the Import Settings to see if this would resolve the issue.
Import Settings:
Working: 4.10.2 CL-2818068
Not Working: 4.11 P4 CL-2843242
Not Working: Dev-Main 4.12 CL-2847722
1. Open UE4
2. Import attached asset as Static Mesh
Regression: Yes
Results: Faces are flipped for the asset but the normals indicate the normal is still facing in the correct direction when checking in the Static Mesh Editor
Expected: Faces should not be flipped.
