A user was trying to make his recorded animation loop, but having trouble getting it to loop properly and having to eyeball it.
So I did some digging and experimentation. I think that one of the main problems is that the record animation can start "between frames" (see attached image). I understand that the editor doesn't really work in frames, but when you're recording an animation, it can be important when you crop the animation and it only lets you crop "Frames X - X".
1. Create a Third Person Template project
2. Open the run animation
3. Ensure the animation is playing
4. Select "Record Animation" in the toolbar
Result: Note where the red marker is on the timeline, most times it is located "between frames"
5. Create the new animation
6. Right click in the timeline of the new animaiton and use the "Remove Frame..." options to try and make it loop properly
Result: Although you may be able to get it to loop properly, the total time of the sequence is incorrect (especially if you try to match the original sequence length)
Expected: At step 4, it should snap to the beginning of a frame in the active sequence
