Materials are rendering now in the preview pane with artifacts caused by the change in the reflection skybox. This can clearly be seen in 4.12 and later by enabling the reflections view in the preview window. There is no longer the skybox with the clouds.
This is a regression from what worked in 4.11, and is an issue in 4.12. Note that 4.13 (Main) is working as intended. This is only an issue in the preview releases.

2. Create a New Material or open an existing one
3. Enable the Reflections view mode from the preview pane
4. Additionally, create a low roughness material to see issue on sphere

Results: Reflections skybox in the preview pane has some issues compared to 4.11. This produces hard-edged artifacts on the material sphere and box.
Expected: Material preview should not have these hard-edged artifacts produced by the reflections skybox.
