Won't fix. SSR has only 4 discrete quality levels. See r.SSR.Quality. The slider just picks one based on certain threshholds.
A user has reported the SSR quality on Macs has no visible difference between 60.0 to 100.0. I was able to confirm this is the case and also found this to be true on PC as well.
I noticed that the quality of 50.0 seems to have the highest visual quality by providing the sharpest reflection. This is somewhat misleading as when I set the quality to 100.0 the reflections seems to dither more.
There could be something going on in the background with the rendering process that is actually increasing the quality of the reflections, but its visual representation is not as apparent as expected.
1. Download and open attached project.
2. Click on the Post Process Volume placed in the Scene.
3. Adjust the 'Screen Space Reflections' quality slider.
Outcome Values past 50.0 seem to actually reduce the quality of the reflections. Furthermore, there is no visible difference between 60.0 and 100.0
Expected Starting from 0.0 and moving towards 100.0 the Screen Space Reflection quality scales from minimal SSR to sharp and clear SSR.
