Description

Nanite enabled skeletal meshes don't work with materials containing a vertex color node. The vertex color material does work for non-Nanite skeletal meshes and Nanite-enabled static meshes.

Steps to Reproduce
  • Create a simple cuboid skeletal mesh, enable Nanite and drag it into a blank project
  • Create a new material, add a Vertex Color node and connect its output to an Abs node, itself connected to a Frac node which connects to the Base Color input on the main material node
  • Apply the material to the Nanite enabled skeletal mesh. It should show as black in the viewport.
