Starting with Unreal Engine 5.7, specular reflections on clearcoat Materials are less pronounced.
Unreal Engine 5.5 tests performed on //UE5/Release-5.5/, CL: 41545209
1. Download the Licensee's test projects, and open in the respective engine version (Unreal Engine 5.5 and 5.7) (see addl info URL)
2. Perform the following steps in both editors
3. Select the camera "CameraActor", rightclick in the viewport, and select "Snap View to Object" (5.5) or "Move Camera to Object" (5.7)
4. De-select the camera
5. Execute the console command "vis SceneColor"
6. Observe the differences in the clearcoat lighting between the versions. 5.7 is much darker, and has less specular reflection.
