Description

"Dead Trail on source lost" doesn't seem to work consistently. This is apparent when the source emitter's duration is longer than the particles being emitted.

This bug also occurs if there is varying lifetimes between source particles. You can see this by adjusting the particle system in the attached project. Select the emitter named "source" and have a min lifetime of .5 and max of 1 with the emitter duration = 1.

You will notice on occasion a ribbon trail isn't marked as dead properly and will snap to another source particle.

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Open attached project (4.13 project)
  2. Open Particle system in content browser
  3. Click on the required module for the emitter named "Source"
  4. Change the emitter duration to 2

RESULT
The ribbon emitter particles won't mark their trail segments as dead when the source particles die this will cause them to snap back to emitter's origin or if new partcles are generated they will snap to those.

EXPECTED
The ribbon emitter particles mark trail segments dead on source loss regardless of emitter duration.
