Description

While testing in KiteDemo - //UE4/Release-4.16 CL 3420042 in Binary – trying to find the limits of the Caution: Out of Bounds UMG, I found a way to glitch under the map.

You must go all the way down to the gravel under the mountain to get spawned under the starting zone.

Steps to Reproduce

Repro Steps:

  1. Have Kite Demo downloaded
  2. Launch Engine Version being tested
  3. Open Kite Demo project
  4. File > Open Level > GDC_Landscape_01 (Map is located inside Content/Maps/GoldenPath)
  5. Select Window > Levels
  6. Right click inside Levels window and select Select All Levels
  7. Right click inside Levels window and select Load
  8. Select the dropdown next to the Play button and choose Standalone Game
  9. Aim the arrow in the Mini-map towards the top right corner
  10. Move forward towards the border (hold shift to increase speed and E to go upward)
  11. Keep going (you will eventually hit an invisible wall, you will start flying to the left a bit)
  12. Fly through the Mountain landscape piece along the invisible wall
  13. Once inside the mountain, keep flying until you come to a stop (corner of 2 invisible walls)
  14. Once stopped, fly downward by holding Q and go to the left till you're on the Gravel looking texture.
  15. Stop all input so that your character will trigger the idle re-spawn in ~35 seconds

Result:
Character is spawned at the start location under the ground
Expected Result:
Character is spawned at the start location above ground, similar to start of game
Frequency:
4/4 - 100%
