Users on the AnswerHub are reporting that Skylights have too much effect on Subsurface Scattering.
The argument here seems to be Movable Skylights versus Static/Stationary and their results regarding how much they should be influencing Subsurface Scattering.
I mentioned that it is expected since Skylights are still emitting photons whether direct or indirect, it will influence the material affect. The tests are pretty consistent that I have found across the versions I tested, however there are slight differences between 4.14.3 and 4.15.2.
1. Open attached project.
2. Select the Skylight and Directional Light.
3. Set to Stationary and Rebuild Lighting.
4. Set to Movable and Rebuild Lighting.
Outcome The mesh using the SSS material is too heavily affected by the Skylight.
Expected The mesh using the SSS material should be minimally influenced by the Skylight.
