Currently, Improved virtual keyboard in Android only receives English characters and special characters. Need support for other languages.
Investigate the bug and research what's needed to make IMEs work, but consult with Chris Babcock before implementing any code changes.
1) Create a new widget
2) Add a button and Text Box (Multi-line)
3) Add script to show the widget
4) Check Improved Virtual Keyboard under project settings / Android
5) Run in Android device
6) Select Text box and select non-English locale keyboard (Add keyboard, Change language)
7) Try to type in non-English characters.
Notice that English characters and Special Characters can add characters but cannot receive other characters when the keyboard locale is changed.
