Create ActorBP has StaticMesh is not assigned to HierarchicalInstancedStaticMeshComponent.
Place this actor on the level, and bind the StaticMesh from the Detail tab and add the appropriate Instance.
When it was correctly displayed StaticMesh with 4.16, but can't display StaticMesh until you save the level by pressing the SaveCurrent button from here with 4.17.
And select and moving this actor on the editor, the engine will crash.
1. Open attached project.
2. Select and moving ”BP_HiInst” on viewport when crash.
