Doing a trace from exactly on the surface is not a well conditioned thing to do, pulling back slightly along the normal will give much better result
Line Trace's chained together into a ricochet do not work on all normal directions. They seem to fire inside of the object.
The blueprint setup in screenshot #2 is in the MyCharacter bp.
1. Download the test project & open it
2. Play-in-Editor
3. Use the Mouse Right-click to shoot the ricocheting line trace
4. Shoot on all of the sides of the physics objects
5. On some sides of the object the second line trace shows green like it is hitting inside of the actor
Results: The line trace will fire inside of the object and show green
Expected: For the line traces to ricochet regardless of normal direction
