This only seems to occur if the parent is statically placed, and only when launching the instances as standalone game from the editor. If the actor is dynamically spawned or if the instances are run through PIE, the issue doesn't seem to occur.
Place a replicated actor with an attached replicated child actor. Start the server and client as standalone editor instances (not PIE).
Result: The child actor's channel on the client will be unable to find/spawn the actor.
